Letter to the Hebrews"
This is a study of this "Letter to the Hebrews" - one of the more unique letters or books in the New Testament. It is written to Jews with a particular focus upon those who were in danger of rejecting Christ and the Christian faith and turning to Judaism. The letter provides insight into the dynamics of the First Century A.D. assemblies that met in synagogues and home churches and consisted of a mix of Jews and Gentiles. The supremacy of Christ over the Law is a major theme as is the subject of continuance in the faith. Christians today can benefit greatly from the insights provided by this letter and avoid modern-day similar phenomenon such as Deconstruction and Progressive Christianity which essentially comprise apostasy - like the apostasy of the First Century.
Critical Truths and Doctrines for a Biblical Worldview
This series is designed to address some of the more applicable truths and doctrines necessary for us as Christians to possess a biblical worldview. George Barna of the Cultural Research Center (Arizona Christian University) has indicated that ‘…just 4% of adults, 2% of parents of preteens, 1% of teenagers, and only 37% of Christian-church pastors holding a biblical worldview. Meanwhile, Syncretism—a worldview blending multiple philosophies for personal satisfaction—dominates, with 92% of Americans adhering to it. This trend is likely to grow as biblical teaching loses cultural influence.’ This series is designed to counter this prevailing trend.
